10 best conker gifts — Peckham Conker Club

When looking to get into conkers, it can appear somewhat inaccessible because of the lack of infrastructure around the game. It is rather simple after all – hit someone else’s conker and get it to crack – but that doesn’t mean getting started is easy.

Foraging for conkers is part of the fun, but for some it could be a turn off and simply seem too time consuming, let alone the amount of time it take to hole a conker! It may surprise you to learn then that there are items that can help to immerse yourself - so whether buying for yourself or for someone close, whether they might have an interest or are looking to get started, there is no need to fear!

At Peckham Conker Club, we really love conkers (could you tell by the name?), so in a bid to be helpful we decided to write a list of the 10 best conkers-related gifts you could get for anyone involved or looking to get involved.

10) Conker Cards

To start, we present a conker card. For someone who likes the game, it’s very personal and a considerate thing to receive, and its not as full on as some of the others on our list. Whilst its not technically a gift per se we think it fits rather nicely on this list, as it shows you have listened to them talk about their interests, and more to the point that you care enough to get them something related to it.

There are many conker-related cards out there, but a fun one that caught our eye comes from a small business here in the UK, who sells their stock on Etsy. Have a look over it here.

9) Conker Socks

Maybe they might like the idea of wearing these at home with their feet up on the couch, maybe they might like to go out with them as a funkier pair of socks, or perhaps they might even fancy wearing these while foraging for some good conkers! Whatever the case, these are guaranteed to add some pizzazz to any and every activity.

Whilst there are sure to be a few options out there, we endeavour as always to give our personal pick, and our eyes are set on this snazzy pair.

8) Stickers

If you’re looking for a more obvious way to show your love of the sport, a sticker is a fantastic option. You could put it on your laptop, on a notebook, or even on your car if it takes your fancy (just be careful you don’t scuff the paint)!

7) Conker Fridge Magnets

At number seven, our list begins to take a turn towards home decoration, and as the list goes on, those home-related gift require an increasing commitment to conkers. So to start off nice and easy, we would recommend buying some conker fridge magnets. These are perfect way to add some non-intrusive décor to the kitchen, and can act as a nice conversation piece if a guest is over and having a look around the kitchen (although its probably only a one liner, so please do prepare other things to talk about – don’t say we didn’t warn you!).

Our recommendation is this vintage looking magnet. Impressively, the company also does magnets for other plants and fruits, such as Pines and Crab Apple, so if it piques your interest you might look to pick one of those up as well.

6) Conker Framed Picture

What is a living room without pictures? Of friends and family, of important memories, and perhaps also of hobbies? If you agree with the latter point, then we have just the gift for you – a conker themed framed picture. Hang it up on the wall or put it on a side table – the choice is yours!

While it might be a good idea to make a few of these on your own using fond memories from times you went conker hunting or when you went to a competition, having one that’s a bit more artistic can add a really nice touch. Our favourite is this Banksy-esque picture.

5) Conker Decoration

For a softer touch, we recommend adding conker-themed decorations around the house. These can be hung up, and add a warm feeling due to their tone.

We promised that these gifts would get more intense as the list went along – and we think we’ve really delivered with this one.

Thus far our decorations have all been things you hang up or put to the side somewhere. They all add to the atmosphere, and they all draw the eye, but they certainly aren’t focal point. What better then than a conkers-related centrepiece for your home?
